Clinical summary: 43 year old female with an IUD in place for 7 to 8 years. She presented with an adnexal mass and liver nodules.

Specimen: Hysterectomy and right salpingo-oophorectomy specimen
Location of the lesion: Endometrium.
Characteristic of endometrium: The endometrium is tan-red. There is an IUD in place. No tumor was found in the endometrium or in the liver. Light microscpic evaluation confirmed actinomycosis.
