Lack of gross abnormalities in:
Pacinian corpuscles- Cutaneous afferents containing substance P and calcitonin gene-related peptide
- Deep nerve fibers in the joint capsule and tendon
- Severe movement defects of limbs
Loss of substantial number of peripheral sensory and sympathetic neurons
Lack of spinal proprioceptive afferents and peripheral sense organs
Loss of parvalbumin and carbonic anhydrase-positive neurons in the dorsal root ganglion
Death shortly after birth
Normal motor neurons
