The most popular zip/unzip programs such as WinZip traditionally unzip programs before the executable file of the program can be launched. Now, the ZipMagic from Miljenix Corporation allows running programs by double clicking their executable files. With ZipMagic, the zipped files appear as Windows folders that can function without a need to modify the compressed file. In addition, the ZipMagic has other useful features. Files can be zipped by simply renaming the files giving them a "zip" extension. Zipped files can be unzipped by renaming the files. Large files can be compressed to floppy disks. When a floppy disk becomes full, the program prompts the user to remove the floppy disk and to insert another floppy disk into the drive. The program also, password protects the zipped files and converts various archived files to zipped files. The program should not be used for compressing installed applications for disk saving purposes as this may harm the Windows shortcuts and Registry entries. The latest beta verion of WinZip 6.3 is another user friendly program which offers features that are similar to ZipMagic
