CLEAN THE TEMPORARY FILES

 

One of the issues that you should regularly do is to clean the temporary files on your system. Windows and the Windows programs place a number of temporary files on your system. Also, when you delete a file, it may simply be transferred to the recycling bin, just in case you need to restore the file. However, after a while such temporary files will take a lot of space on your system and as part of the housecleaning efforts, you should delete these files. Particularly, if you wok on images that take a lot of space and then for whatever reason decide to delete them, they may be stored in your recycling bin and occupy a lot of space. In addition, certain softwares create temporary files on your system which are supposed to be removed once you exit the program. However, sometimes, these temporary files are not deleted. If you wish to delete these files from you system do the following:


Open the "File manager" or "Windows Explorer".
Click on the "C" drive.
Click on the "Recycling bin" icon.
Click delete. Be sure that you have not recently deleted a file that you later may wish to restore.
Click on the "Windows" icon.
Click on the "Temp" icon.
Click delete. Once the entire directory is deleted, make the directory again.
Search the "C" for any file that has the extension of ".temp". For searching use the wildcard "*.temp"
Delete all the retrieved files with the extension of ".temp"
